Last Saturday, before the snow hit again, Kaia and I went for a walk along a salt estuary - where river meets sea.
The early March palate along the water included a few glimpses of green, a lot of muddy brown, and dry yellow. The colors were a welcome change from the greys, blues, and whites that have dominated the landscape for the last few months.
I can't imagine going barefoot in the water right now, but the pup sure didn't mind. She loved digging in the mud for clams, sniffing all the fishy smells, and rubbing her fur into the ocean grass.
