Just FYI, I was to New Rochelle this summer for a meeting with a publisher. It's essentially a New York City suburb--interestingly, some of the people I spoke with lived in NYC and commuted to New Rochelle by train--on Long Island Sound. It's fairly close to the Bronx and Yonkers, among others. I didn't like it much, but there's not much about NYC and environs that could convince me to live there, so I wouldn't take my opinion on it. I'm not really a "city" guy.

Don't know much about Nashville.

I have heard many great things about St. Paul (except the winters, but Matt pretty much grew up in St. Ignace, so there won't be many surprises in St. Paul there). Never been there, but people seem to swear by it.

Wow! I've been looking at Nashville, too! I was there for a conference a few years ago and really loved it. Fun city, vibrant people. Too bad about the country music, though.
